What is a Tour Guide
A Tour Guide is a knowledgeable, energetic people person with skills in public speaking and the ability to lead a group. Day to day tasks include but are not limited to:
- Planning and arranging excursions to places of interest
- Accompany tourists and visitors on tours and outings
- Accompany tourists and visitors on natural adventure tours
- Give talks and provide information about the places that are visited
- Pre-arrange entry for visitors to places on the tour including but not limited to art galleries, museums, historical sites and exhibitions
- Hold Q & A sessions with visitors on the tour
- Pre-arrange accommodation and meals
- Offer interpretation services
- Drive a coach or bus
Getting in and Qualifications
Personal Skills
Tour Guides will have a set of personal skills that will help them navigate the specifics of their role. They include but are not limited to:
