What is a Environmental Engineer
An Environmental Engineer assists in monitoring the impact of construction projects on the environment while creating more efficient, environmentally friendly systems. Day to day tasks include but are not limited to:
- Prepare environmental impact reports from projects such as farming, construction and engineering
- Advise on treatment solutions for pollution
- Advise on ways to minimise environmental impacts of infrastructure and farming projects
- Plan, prepare and manage projects
- Provide specialist advice, reports, recommendations and drawings for projects
- Supervise contractors and projects on site
- Assess environmental impact and provide reports for resource consent
- Design systems that handle waste management
- Collect samples for pollution testing
