What is a Chemist

A Chemist is enquiring and innovative. Day to day tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Environmental and chemical monitoring
  • Testing and measuring of chemical samples
  • Developing chemical processes for industry
  • Write and publish findings in scientific journal articles
  • Supervise and train staff and students 
  • Analytical quality and safety testing of samples
  • Development and design of specialised equipment for the study of chemicals
  • Development and implementation of methods for the study of chemical compounds
  • Manufacture of chemicals
