What is a Chef

A Chef is creative and innovative with a passion for food and cooking. Day to day tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Ingredient sourcing, procurement and selection
  • Ordering of food and supplies
  • Supplier liaison and account management
  • Plan, cost and design menus
  • Budgets, accounts and inventory management
  • Preparation, cooking and presentation of food
  • Ensuring food handling, preparation and storage adheres to strict health and safety standards
  • Supervision and training of staff
  • Supervision of cleaning
  • Management of in service operations

Getting in and Qualifications
