What is a Animator & Digital artist
An Animator and Digital Artist typically has a varied creative skillset. Day to day tasks include but are not limited to:
- Client facing, employer or director meetings to define a brief
- Preparation of sketches, layouts, templates, wireframes, backdrops and hand-drawn animations
- Research and design development
- Design and build of sets, puppets and models
- Handcraft of puppets or characters
- Hand-drawn animations
- Creation of 2D & 3D backdrops for animations in 3D mesh frames or computer animation
- Planning and scheduling of design and animation projects for teams
- Book and media illustrations
- Staff recruitment, training and management
- Character rigging for animation
- Film direction for motion capture
- Physical movement filming for digital animation
