What is a Quantity Surveyor
A Quantity Surveyor prepares detailed budgets and estimates for construction products ensuring that finances are sufficient for each stage fo the project. Day to day tasks include but are not limited to:
- Assess and review building plans working with engineers and architects to determine budgetary requirements
- Provide value management services
- Prepare pre and mid-build costing and budgetary reports and updates
- Monitor consumption during building progress on site
- Measure and estimate costs for labour and materials
- Create quantity schedules for labour and material costs during the tendering process
- Provide arbitration services for disputes between contractors and clients
