What is a REGISTERED NURSE
An enrolled nurse practices under the supervision of a registered nurse. An enrolled nurse cares for patients, monitoring and contributing towards assessments, whereas a registered nurse has a much more senior role practising independently alongside other healthcare professionals.
Day to day tasks include but are not limited to:
- Comprehensive patient assessments
- Development and management of health care plans
- Administer intravenous medication and immunisations
- Clinical decision making and planning
- Supervise, train and direct enrolled nursing staff
- Provide clinical and medical advice to assist patients in managing their own health plans
- Patient monitoring and condition record keeping
- Training and education to medical staff and other nurses
