What is a Chef
A Chef is creative and innovative with a passion for food and cooking. Day to day tasks include but are not limited to:
- Ingredient sourcing, procurement and selection
- Ordering of food and supplies
- Supplier liaison and account management
- Plan, cost and design menus
- Budgets, accounts and inventory management
- Preparation, cooking and presentation of food
- Ensuring food handling, preparation and storage adheres to strict health and safety standards
- Supervision and training of staff
- Supervision of cleaning
- Management of in service operations
