What is a Biomedical engineer

A Biomedical Engineer can work in a wide variety of sectors including Veterinary, film animation, research institutes, private corporates, universities, medical departments and more. Day to day tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Public health and research support
  • Development and design of medical products
  • Development and design of medical devices and equipment
  • Design and creation of artificial body parts for humans and animals
  • Training of medical staff in regards to technical research and device operation
  • Maintenance and repair of medical devices, products and equipment
